Thanks for your views, Bilqis! Great to get feedback.

This first festival was a pilot and the organisers have certainly learnt quite a lot through this process. We are a litle burnt out at the moment but generally, like you say, it was a great success, just wished we were not in the red.... however that was expected and I think it'll take some 3 years before the original visions can be realised. This is mainly due to the lack of resources, not enthusiasm or creativity.

Part of the festival's vision is to include Malaysian artists as well, independent, innovative and of course site-specific. I welcome any contacts and will have to slowly get to know more of the art scene in Malaysia.

This first festival is too costly to continue without funding and artists contributions. The generosity has been tremendous all around.

Please, any help with publicity would be great. This time budget didnt allow for advertisements but email were sent around, however the STAR and The NEW STRAITS TIME did fantastic full page articles and spreads. Next year's festival will be on 9, 10, 11 July... so plenty of warning time!

We did have a ready crowd and certainly the festival was meant for everyone, without compromise to the artistic content. V positive response from audiences.

Sad that I missed this event but considering how well I keep up to date with what's happening in the local art scene, I didn't find about this until it was too late. The performances look amazing and perhaps a good chance for us to realise that as long as there's a will, there's a way. Syabas!
